The project involves developing and hosting a web based women health information system (including maternal health) for a district in Karnataka. The system will be designed with Kannada GUIs and will have templates through which NGOs in the District can collaborate with each other in verifying, updating, annotating and disseminating information. The system will also have an Internet map engine with digital maps so that disease mapping and tracking of budgets and expenditure could be done |

TRC has been over the last six months exploring the possibility
of
using spatial information management technologies (a combination
of
digital maps, data bases and GIS tools) in mapping spatial spread
of
the TB patients and their treatment gathered during the latest
survey. TRC contracted Spinfo, to develop digital maps of
Thiruvallore area . Satellite images and GPS were used to accurately
mark the villages, settlements and build a data base on the
survey. A
number of analysis is currently being carried out at TRC to
explore
and derive spatial relationships. |
